A lot of people are nowadays choosing to have furniture in their bathroom. By planning the bathroom design to their exact specifications, consumers are able to purchase a fully fitted bathroom suite tailored to their needs and style based on the layout, configuration and finishes.
With so many different colours to choose from in fitted bathroom furniture – wenge, oak, beech, walnut and birch to name just a few – one can create a bathroom which is truly modern and stylish. Modular bathroom furniture can be configured to any layout and size of room, so you can be truly creative with your new bathroom design.
There are a number of components need to achieve a fully fitted bathroom furniture suite:
Carcass
Doors
Legs
Handles
Worktops
Plinths
edging strip
When your bathroom furniture arrives from the supplier check all the components are there before letting the driver leave.
At this stage you will have a plan to work from, preffably a 3D CAD drawing. First job will be to assemble the furniture, fitting the legs and doors to the carcass. Leave the handles until the units are fitted. The units should now slot into their designated spaces according to the plan. You can now fit the plinth to the bottom to hide the legs from view, giving the perception of one flat surface with the door.
If you are fitting a vanity unit, you will need to cut the worktop to allow space for the basin. There should be a template supplied with the semi-recessed basin to aid accuracy in the cutting. The worktops can now be fitted and the basin thereafter.
With the basin and a WC unit you will obviously need knowledge of plumbing here, and unless you are qualified or very experienced it’s recommended you hire a professional for this work.
Once the sanitaryware is plumbed in the only job left is to fit the handles and clean up. Installing your own fitted bathroom furniture isn’t actually as daunting as you may you think.
